Buying or selling in Katy, Texas
Master-planned living west of Houston, with a deep mix of resale and new construction.
The market here
Katy sits roughly 30 miles west of downtown Houston along the I-10 Energy Corridor, which is what makes it work for anyone commuting toward west Houston job centers. The city spans three counties, so two homes a few minutes apart can sit in different county tax jurisdictions — worth checking before you write an offer.
Housing stock is unusually varied for a suburb. Large master-planned communities like Cinco Ranch make up much of the resale inventory, while continued development on the west and north sides keeps a steady supply of new construction. That range means Katy can work at a lot of different price points, which is why I show here constantly.
